when studies seem to show that working out each muscle group twice a week is better in pretty much every way if you're not on roids

depends on your natural test, but just imagine when you work out, youre putting a scab on your muscle, if you don't let it completely heal, you're just ripping off the scab, and it will take even longer to completely heal, therefore the more you do, the less results visually, (str is diff because it involves central nervous system) but for body building and volume, definitely 5-7 days between each muscle group IMO and if you're training correctly you will be sore for 4-5 days, unless on gear. With gear you could train til you nuts fall off.

e: so i guess it depends on what youre trying to achieve..

As OP mentioned, 2x a week is demonstrably better for natural lifters than once a week.

OP is really just asking why so many people are still doing 1x a week when it's objectively the wrong way to workout.

I suspect it's because most people struggle to do basic research and trust their buddies over peer reviewed science.

Sometimea it amazes me after learning basic info over 10 years ago, i still see so many men in their twenties and beyond with such developed upper physiques but no development or an obvious lag in their lower development.

i'm currently a fatty, but i'm probably going to be one of them in a year or so. only thing i do for legs are squats, and started deadlifting 2 weeks ago. whereas for my upper body i'm doing a bunch of exercises.

Its better to squat and deadlift 2-3 times a week. It is just more efficient for your body...especially if your are not in solid condition erc

Also i was kinda referncing people that just by observing you can tell they dont squat or deadlift
