Heyo!
My wife and I have been on keto for about 4 days now. I entered ketosis on my second day and my level of ketones have increased significantly, tested via urine strips.

My wife and I are both just out of shape and not obese or over weight. She did this before and it worked wonders.
We exercise every other day with full cardio and weights.

I’ve lost 6-9 pounds since we started (disparity for water weight).

Here’s my problem... today I began feeling sick to my stomach and have had some exploding bathroom trips... this last one being so bad that I wanted to ask this forum about it.
I found multiple answers from a google search, but nothing satisfying.

My ketone level, indicated by the color change on the strip, is the darkest color on the provided chart with number “16.”

Any thoughts or advice?

I just told you what to do, I’m not trolling.

If a diet gives you the runs, you probably shouldn’t do it.. sunless you enjoy being hospitalized due to electrolyte imbalances

Strips are bad indicator, it can only show how body uses ketones inefficiantly, what you have to test is BHB, it is blood ketone levels. With time urine ketones go down as your body becomes more efficient and converts it them to BHB used as energy.
Your body is under stress in first phase so you mostly lost water + muscles. Real switch takes time, don't know your diet, but KETO is not just about eggs and bacon. Doing it wrong you can have real health probs. Doing it right - can be very beneficial.

It can take 2-3 weeks for your body to adapt to a ketogenic diet. I am not an expert in nutrition but it's really important to make sure you are consuming the right foods in the right proportions, especially when you are in the process of adapting (carbs =< 5%, protein = 15%, fats >= 80%).

The best advice would be to talk to an expert though as everyone's body is different and what has worked well for one person make have radically different effects on another.

Don't stop the diet, that's relatively normal. Your body will acclimate, give it 2-3 weeks, maybe even longer (I've read people claim up to 4-5 weeks before testing over 1) and reassess.

Highly skeptical you are in ketosis after 48 hours, but that is besides the point.
