At 5:08 never ever heard of this before, but it feels like my ulnar nerve is coming out of its groove everytime I do a pressing, and especially overhead tricep movement. Will this help? Any other prehab exercises that'll help?

Omg just tried it, my ulnar nerve doesn't feel like it's "clicking" near the bottom of the bench press, it's quite sore after the stretch though. It's so weird, I'm anticipating feeling the little click, and it doesn't come

ulnar neuropathy can be the result of a hypermobile ulnar nerve at the groove in the posteriomedial elbow. with certain anatomical arrangements, movements such as the bench press can put tension on the ulnar nerve during elbow flexion and the nerve can actually pop over the medial epicondyle of the elbow and into free space in the medial upper limb. surgery can correct this, but if you are feeling popping during elbow flexion and youre concerned about neuropathy you should see a doctor for an assessment/referral to ortho/neuro. ulnar neuropathy will generally induce neurological symptoms such as tingling in innervated areas, weakness in affected distal musculature, shooting pain, etc. it might be an MSK problem if your only symptom is clicking in the elbow. get an MD to look at you.

the clicking is gone after I did the prehab exercise. I've had the thing where the nerve feels like it's popping over into another space and popping back during the movement for ages.

e/ also i understood maybe 10% of what you said.

it is possible that this is happening. if the ulnar nerve is moving more than it should during exercise, it can become physically irritated from rubbing over the bone constantly. stretching and tension can also cause tingling sensations. stretching may help, specifically neural flossing techniques, but if it persists go see a doctor because it may be a surgical problem. neural flossing just requires taking a nerve bundle to full range of motion by flexing and manipulating joints and then just gently stretching the tissue to hopefully accomodate extra length.

yeah, it wasn't popping over the bone at all this workout, I guess I'll just do the nerve flossing exercise thing twice a day?

i cant say at all that any popping youre experiencing during bench press is a nerve popping over a bone, just that that is a possibility. you need to get evaluated by a doctor to have an idea of whats wrong
