just got back on these forums and I wanted to give back to the community, I've been training in yoga pretty intensively for the last 3 and a half years. currently in my 3rd teacher training and have been studying under a 70 year old wizard of a yogi for the last 3 years. if you have any questions about yoga, gaining flexibility, injuries, etc. let me know, i'd be very happy to help as much as I can. My answers may not be exactly what you need, but try them out, if they work, they work, if not drop the concept. peace.

Yoga is literally just stretching and learning proper breathing. If that takes you almost four years to learn that's mind blowing to me.

Also you basically said you'll give some tips and if they don't work don't use them. Oh okay thanks 😂

yoga is not simply stretching and proper breathing, there is much more to it than that. if you’d like to know more I can assist in opening the mind, but please do not bash what you do not know.

Haven’t trained deadlift in over 5 years, back in the day in the 300s, my goal is not really strength but mobility and feeling comfortable moving inside of my own body.

Are you anti yoga? You’re a pt major so I’d think you’d approve.

It's about proprioception and kinesthesia of the body as well. Sorry for not including that in my original post.

I'm anti a lot of things, most of them being how the health and fitness industry takes advantage of people.

Yoga is expensive as fuck and it's hyped up to more than it actually is. The concepts of yoga are truly beneficial, but hipsters and middle-aged women had to ruin a good thing.

Definitely agree with how the industry has ruined yoga. It is truly expensive as fuck. You can do it all at home too with free online videos.

But to your original post, yoga isn’t just flexibility, breathing and mindfulness. Depending on the style of yoga, there is a lot of body weight strength involved.

Look at this guys insta profile:

The guy is an animal. I would kill for his flexibility and strength.

I've found a Yoga studio down the street from me that is owned by a yoga master that trained with some big head in NYC back in the 80s.. He charges 8 bucks for a drop in, and I think it's like 25 bucks for a monthly membership with unlimited visits.. That's not too horrendous. On the other hand, at one of our local gyms they charge like 25 bucks per class, and the woman that does it doesnt have a clue whats going on... It kind of pisses me off.

I've actually played with the idea of trying Yoga, just dont have time =\.
