the guy who said you have bipolar didn't even say which type. he also didn't ask about the transience ( or lack of) in your lability of moods. time is important. if you oscillate within minutes, hours, or days, it is indicative of something other than moods turning only after weeks or months
7-10 years at uni doesn't mean much. people who say such things are ignorant. imagine a chemistry major. knows much about chemistry, yes? what is to stop someone's ordering all the chemistry textbooks that person utilized in his education? ordering chemicals online and doing experiments? perhaps there is some lab equipment not so easily obtainable, but you get the idea. even dumber to suggest psychology is something you can actually know.
I've been to dozens of psychiatrists and psychologists over the last 5ish years and literally 1 doctor has been fairly emphatic with telling me I have something. a couple others said they were quite sure, and the vast majority were concerned more with helping me than labeling my condition. many even refused or were uncomfortable with giving me a diagnosis
also a lot of the disorders occur simultaneously. so it isn't exactly like you will have disorder "x." someone could have a personality disorder which occurs alongside or is caused by anxiety and depression, yet it is only the anxiety which elicits their desire for treatment
Well if you had actually read the other content in the thread you'd have seen that he already states that he knows he has bipolar.
Lol.
Yes, do tell me about these so called individuals that go to work and then come back home and immerse themselves into very specific and complex textbooks.
