haven't had more than 20g of carbs a day for the past 5 days and I can barely move


performance is about 1/50th of a week ago

Its not. Its actually fat for your brain.

And if thats true OP then your doing something wrong. If you supplemented and made sure your getting your electrolytes you wouldn't be feeling that way. Did you make sure your getting enough, sodium, potassium, and magnesium ?

no, neural tissue has an absolute requirement for glucose. the only reason you go into ketosis and start producing ketone bodies is because the brain needs substrate to enter CTA to supply ox phos with a gradient to run off of. it will produce ketone bodies from fat and protein because there is no glucose and in extreme conditions you can generate enough ketone bodies to put yourself into ketoacidosis, or an acidotic state due to high ketone production. ketoacidosis is life threatening

Okay, maybe the brain requires glucose. But you’re only going to have ketoacidosis if you’re a diabetic. And then yes it’s life threatening. However if your not diabetic you will be fine.
