Doing home workouts because of your self consciousness is going to actually hinder your growth. Because you have no need to push yourself, (because in this case no one is watching) you just simply won't push yourself.
Use your self consciousness as a motive to go a little bit harder, run a little bit faster, go a little longer in a public setting. This will not only improve your physicality, but also increase your self confidence as you slowly start to love yourself for who you are and what your journey is becoming.

Absolutely agree.
I rather see someone out of shape with low energy give it their all in the gym than a hot bimbo starting at her phone doing some leg extensions with 5kg. (I stare at her for other reasons, raising libido and testosterone in a natural way)
No one who matters will criticize you for trying to give it your all in a gym, trust me.
