I just got a Fitbit about a week ago and started monitoring my heart rate. I noticed that my heart rate stays at around 81-83 bpm during the workout.

I lift heavy and reach failure for every exercise, been working out for years now and have good cardio (not sure if that's a factor in all this)

Your HR during lifting should only get around 50% of your target max HR...

Congratulations

My max heart rate is ~195, I'm not at 50% - just want to make sure that's normal

I sometimes manually do it between sets since I don’t have a smart watch. I briefly hit 118 during heavy (for me) deadlifts.
