Trap bar likely feels better for a few reasons
You are directly over the weight, rather than having the weight in front of you with a barbell
There are handles on a trap bar, if you're using the handles then you are picking the bar up from a higher point than with a barbell. Higher starting point = better leverages = can lift more weight. Flip the trap bar upside down if you want to make it more challenging
Neutral grip, doesnt cause any rotating or twisting of the bar and therefore your spine (mixed grip can cause this)
Generally, people are stronger with trap bar than with a barbell ^ for those reasons
No disadvantages whatsoever using a trap bar. For 95% of applications it is superior to a barbell deadlift, especially for sports athletes. The only time id recommend you barbell deadlift is if youre training for a powerlifting competition
Although dont forget, trap bar is for pussies and barbell is for men
tl;dr - Trap bar > barbell
Your last two statements totally contradict each other 😂😂
But thanks, I think I’ll stick to trap bar for a while.
