The plan is :

Mon - OHP
Tues - Deadlift
Wed - ??
Thurs - Bench
Fri - Squat
Sat - ??
Sun - OFF

From what I read Jim stresses that cardio is a must. Anyone run wendlers 531 before and have any insight on what they did for these "??" days I have listed. I'm thinking cardio and some accessory lifts

Personally I believe 531 is poo poo if ur goal is to get stronger at squat bench and deadlift, for a lot of reasons

If you really like the 531 style of programming , try googling '531 but who was CNS'

To answer question bout cardio, especially if you do the above program - no. Will only negatively affect recovery. Still can live ur life and go play kiss chasey in the park outside the school but no need for intentional cardio for the sake of it (treadmills, stationary bikes etc)

I've never really taken a program seriously and following this should be fairly easy with a 1 year post graduate program starting soon. I started with roughly 80-85% of my max weight to avoid injury cause I have really damaged my knees and back through hockey. Taking it slow so far has felt good. However, I was planning on skipping the first couple deload weeks because of decreased intensity.

Googling CNS one right now and seems pretty taxing. Whats your experience?

probably will do some HIIT on the bike or elip tomorrow.

ive been dealing with nagging injuries so i started my first cycle fairly light. probably 75%-80% of my max lift is used as my training max. My main lifts feel pretty easy, would it be better to just skip the deload the up the first cycle by 10lbs upperbody and 20lbs lower body and switch back to 5/10 for cycles 2 and beyond?

on your last lifts where your supposed to go for as many reps as possible. Whats a normal range for the last set? I've hit 10 reps with a couple left in the tank on my last sets.
