Been ramping up my lifting lately, and I figured I'd get myself a foam roller to help keep my muscles in check. I've seen them around but I don't know a lot about them. Anyone got some ideas?

i haven't been to a sporting goods store, or a general store with a sporting goods section yet that has not had them.

there's the big ones you put on the ground and roll around on.

then there are the handheld ones that look like a rolling pin, whether they help or not they feel great

don't do this, you'll never foam roll that things hurts way too much when you're starting to foam roll.

K-mart has ones for $12 that are very good quality.

i know some guys who have used pvc from the start and they love it

whereas i'm more into the high-quality hard foam rollers, sometimes with spikes in them

btw, dryer balls (the hard little blue spikey ones) and tennis balls are pretty good for the bottom of your feet

a foam roller or a few different ones, maybe some roller sticks too = great lifter's investment
