I kept up with bodybuilding.com forums, this forum, many YouTube fitness guys, and general fitness news from about 2009 to 2012 (and I think slightly into 2013).
Back then (and prior to that), the cancer of the internet was broscience, fake naturals, trolls. Wasn't such a bad thing. Pretty typical. That stuff is still around, not bad.
Now that I've come back, I've been checking back up with forums, YouTube, news.
Now, it seems like the cancer of the internet (for lifting) is all these small guys who are labeling every single person who is bigger than them as fake naturals. Their mouths have gotten much bigger. I've been watching through some vids, and every single guy who doesn't have a boy's physique is "fake and on growth hormones".
Is that really what lifting has come to for unsuccessful tryhards? Lifters who started 5+ years ago couldn't make gains so now they're trying to find ways to lower the bar rather than rising up to it?
