1. Homosexuality (and the spread of HIV and the lack of spread of children).
2. Increase in autism and psychiatric disorders such as ADD/ADHD.
3. Increase of people with digestive/gut issues.
4. Increased murder rate worldwide it seems.
5. People getting more fat (leads to CAD/neoplasia).
6. Heavy reliance on technology and phones and the media related to it.

Am I the only one noticing this trend?

I've wondered about things sort of along these lines, and feel it may be a perception thing.

Are these things actually increasing, or is it just that we are more aware of everything that goes on?

Being that we are bombarded with lightning fast information (fact/opinion/speculation/lies/whatever), seemingly all the time, in contrast to how things moved even a decade ago, we are more aware of anecdotal reports, studies, reports, news tidbits, etc.

So, specifically:

1) I don't think homosexuality is necessarily on a majorly significant rise. It is most likely just not concealed anymore due to general public acceptance (homosexuality has been around for centuries and centuries).

2) I have no idea bout autism. Psychiatric disorders are more 'mainstream' now, so they may have been around before, but not acknowledged or they were framed differently. Now there is a treatment for everything, so any signs of something and you get it analyzed.

3) Digestive/gut issues may be similar to what I described for psychiatric disorders (more mainstream and frequently analyzed), or they actually could be a more commonly occurring thing because of shitty diets.

4) Murder rate is hard to say? I would like to see numbers when it comes to murder in relation to population growth. Is the increase in murder growing proportionately with the population numbers, or is murder per capita actually elevating?

5) Obesity is up. Shitty diets, less exercise, less physically demanding labor as a whole.

6) Reliance on technology is definitely going up. I would even go so far to say it is becoming (or already is) a form of mass addiction, and flies back to my first point of lightning fast information. (I even notice myself checking my phone for no apparent reason on occasion, and I know I'm not alone on that).

1) Probably cause it gets more acceptable for every year which is great imo. I don't like the genderidentification bullshit however.
2) No clue about a potential increase in autism. ADD etc is probably cause people can pretty easy abuse it to get a paper that says they can't do to avoid shit. And also get meds.
3) People are retards. Everybody is apparently glutenintolerant all of a sudden. ''Non-celiac gluten sensitivity'' OUT OF NOWHERE.
4) Sweden has a pretty low murderrate, but it seems to have increased the last couple of years due to increased immigration.
5) ''Fat people are just as healthy etc as people who eat healthy and exercise''
6) I think this can relate to parents buying phones, Ipads, laptops etc for their kids when they are like 6. Kids today grow up with technology in a way we didn't, tfw dial-up modem.

You'd think just because I'm right handed that I use my right hand. Nope.

Static numbers?

like the # of people at one point in time, as opposed to percentages... to factor in population increase

Yea agree on the first one, it probably just is everybody becoming desensitized to it through media therefore it becoming more acceptable.

For the psychiatric disorders, you can be completely normal, go to a psychiatrist and show signs of something that's simply hardwired into you and they'll prescribe something to sedate you or stabilize you in some manner or form.

I think it's shitty diets and parents forcefeeding their kids mcdonalds everyday, so I guess obesity and diabetes II starts at home. I've seen so many cases of just plain obese people coming into the office during cardiology rotations, at least 80% of the patients were overweight. Something that can easily be prevented unless there is a familial pre-disposition.

As far as the murder rate, just something I thought, not really based on per capita or stats, just the amount of news reports on cops killing black people. Some guy in sacramento was shot 14 times. Also the increase in cops killing blacks...

Shit diets yea.

And the technology is the scariest one, I do that too, randomly checking stuff for no reason, the possibilities are endless now that so much information can be presented on one handheld device available to general public. Kids falling off cliffs for a new pokemon lol, we'll let darwinism deal with those retards. But seriously, this tech boom is not good at all, I can see it going in many directions.
