I injured my knee 3 years ago, and I haven't done any leg work outs since. I did only upper body and running.

I got back into working out my legs a month ago, but I started getting a sharp pain on my right knee. I started really light because I didn't want to rush things, but it still hurts.

I don't think flexibility is a problem since I have been doing Limbo 11.

My doctor said I have no knee problems, but he didn't even do an x-ray.

What other leg work outs can I do to fix this problem?

Really sucks how I went from doing 6 plates total to not even being able to bodyweight squat.

How does your doctor know that you have no knee issues without a full work up? Is the sharp pain chronic after the workout? Or is it intermittent/during a motion?

Go get a second opinion bruh.

xrays dont really show much anyway
need an mri to know anything

Sure they do, MRI's are usually not used to diagnose knee conditions since an X-ray can pick up on it just the same.

We had a DO get fired from my hospital because he was writing scripts for kick backs to get MRI's done, and 90% of them were unnecessary.

Xrays don't show soft tissue definition, you need an MRI to look at connective tissue integrity. You can infer some things using xray but it's limited

I agree, but wouldn't it be kind of redundant to do an MRI if the damage is easily diagnosed by an X-ray?

I don't work in Ortho, so I cant say what his symptoms denote, but I'd be pissed if my MD ordered an 1.5 hour test that costs more than my deductible to determine I had arthritis or some inflamation.

It would be redundant if it were obvious but Xrays aren't always definitive and if there is no sign of arthritis (which is usually seen as decreased gapping in a joint, indirectly demonstrating missing or worn cartilage) then a more sensitive test is usually ordered. Knee MRI shouldn't take an hour and a half unless it's done with an arthrogram but it is definitely expensive. I had my hand scanned as part of my lab mates experiment and that only took about 20 min. Ligament tears aren't obvious using xray technology and an MRI is usually required to diagnose.

I've had an arthrogram before, they suck ass..

Thanks for this post btw, was really informative. I've always gone with the ole ways of starting cheap. But I guess it depends on what the symptoms are indicative of.

if the xray is insufficient, then you end up doing a mri, you did both instead of one
