That's seems like a pretty unfair assessment. And you seem to be getting rather worked up for no reason. And sending personal attacks to a person you don't even know? pretty low. But I'll respond to them.
1. I'm sure he hit's the snooze sometimes, of course. He isn't some kind of Alien that just stands up right after waking up and floats out of his bed with a smile on his face. But considering this is a video with the intent of displaying working out, not a documentary about how men wake up in the morning, we decided to cut that unneeded stuff out of it.
2. Again, the point is to get to the gym. Not focus on the small things such as unlocking the door. The viewer can assume that he unlocks his door if they so choose to occupy their brain with that train of thought.
3. I too think the cutting of film can be a bit much at times. Going from pitch black to a clear picture creates an illusion that can be overbearing. If I had to do that effect over again, I'd lower the opacity at those points. Rather than cutting them entirely. Perhaps that would make it easier on the eyes.
4. What you interpret as being uninspiring, some could say is, in-fact, inspiring. He wasn't doing his max, but in order to get different angles of shots, the weight needed to be at a level where he could preform several reps. The amount of reps in each exercise represented in the video is much less compared to what he did in reality. With that you must be asking..Why is he not sweating then? Well, in order to get those different shots and angles the person shooting the video had to adjust a multitude of different things. Not just positioning, but brightness and the f-stop primarily. If there was a better more experienced crew behind him, perhaps the video could be shot more in real-time. Displaying the amount of effort being put into the workout as a whole a lot more clearly. However, considering this was my first time doing such work (and being only one person) the shooting time had to be extended. Extending not just the workout, but the sets and reps. This of course means the subjects heart rate was lower than it would be during a normal workout. So you can extrapolate from that statement that that's why he wasn't sweating. Also, this is footage taken from him after a long lapse of going to the gym on a consistent basis as he once did after finishing the Navy. After being "sidelined" from a shoulder injury, working out took a back seat. However, during this time he continued his education to further his knowledge about the body and how it responds to specific workouts and dieting. Now he is getting back on a consistent gym schedule, as well as continuing his education.
5. I do not know the jargon you are referring to. But through your comments I can assume the meaning perhaps. I do not need to get into his personal life, considering that isn't the meaning of this video, nor the meaning of me posting it here. But I can address the location and why there was no one in the gym for most of the shots. Ron is a personal trainer. And at the gym he trains clients at there is a private personal training room. That is where most of the shots were taken place, besides the dead-lifting clip. This just made sense considering what needed to be done to obtain certain shots. A better alternative then interrupting members of that gym that are working out themselves.
I hope this is a sufficient response to your overly aggressive comments. I believe it is okay to critique and even criticize not just the video as it is, but the person being portrayed in it as well as the ability and crew shooting it. However, I feel as if your criticism was purely negative in nature. With the main purpose to antagonize me. I do not feed such trolls. Rather, I'll respond in a much more mature manner.
