so i go in to see doctor for my shoulder pain just cause i needed a referral, because my insurance requires the referral to see the physical therapist

so i told the doctor about it first. she goes and makes sure the info is correct and sets up the referral for me

i then try to describe pain in nipple area and seeing if she thinks its gyno.

she keeps talking about how the shoulder pain can travel to the sternum and joints around my shoulder.

she doesnt speak english well at all..... pisses me off. i stay calm and just say thank you and leave....

how the fk

no offense, but next time i will ask the receptionist when making appointment to see a doctor who only speaks english.

when information is important, i hope to be able to communicate well with my doctor.... this was a stupid thing to have happen

damn that sucks tell her how good and where she learned her engrizh

im pretty sure her native language is spanish

and well 90% of the people who go to that office speak spanish

cause florida.

i dont care if people speak other languages.

just if i need medical care, i expect to be able to communicate with the person who i am paying to help me

We have loads of doctors here and English isnt the 1st language but they speak it well, Speaking the language fluently of the country you work in should be a requirement, Especially somethin as important as health care

If only America didn't need so many foreign people to fill up our high paying jobs that we're too dumb for.

i even pointed to the exact area and spoke slowly

i didnt want to come across as rude. and i didnt want to teach her english... lol
