for the most part its just taking an average number of calories eaten each 24 hour period. technically not really. but thats sort of the easiest way to estimate calories in vs calories burned.
omar isuf had a great video i saw a long time ago. it explained it well. not sure if this is the exact video i saw, but im sure its close enough. i skimmed this video. seems decent enough to watch for basic understanding
