wtf is kombucha

just looked up the 1 gallon glass jar on amazon and saw this stuff being sold as live culture bacteria to help brew some tea or some shit? wtf?

i love tea, hot or cold. but this seems gross. they claim it has health benefits? wtf

Kombucha is produced by fermenting tea using a "symbiotic 'colony' of bacteria and yeast" (SCOBY).

It deals with prebiotics and other stuff. What is so weird about bacterium?
