There are a few more on Omar's channel about a range of topics. Hopefully there are more to come.

99% of people's recommended protein intake is WAY too low for any one even remotely considers looking aesthetic.

RDA is a gay. Good luck not being a skinny / skinny fat / fat bitch on that recommendation.

I paid half attention to about 9 minutes of the video, can anyone TL;DR how much this guy thinks is optimal protein in take?

Recently read a study:

(American study then translated into Norwegian and translated back to English by moi):

three groups of 25 individuals with BMI ranges between 19-30 and were tested

Each individual had a constant intake of carbs, while the fat intake varied between 33 and 52% of total calories.

Group 1: 0.68g/kg
Group 2: 1.79g/kg
Group 3: 3g/kg

After following their diets for 8 weeks the results were:

total weight gain of:

3.16kg for Group 1
6.05kg for Group 2
6.51kg for Group 3

As you can see, Group 1 falls WAY behind, while Group 2 and Group 3 are quite similar, despite more than 50% increase in protein intake from Group 2 to Group 3.

HOWEVER:

of the three groups, Group 3 put on the least amount of fat. (not relative/%, but absolute)

6.51kg vs 6.05kg, but the 6.51kg group still had less fat than the 6.05kg group (and laughably, put on less fat than Group 1 which only put on 3.16kg of muscle + fat)

I don't even trust what these professional fitness models / bodybuilders say. They probably only say what their sponsor tells them to say.

A friend of mine who has won medals in Men's Physique both nationally and at European level weighs 81kg and consumed 240g of protein (off cycle... more when on) for most of his prep. That's 3g per kg, well over 1g/lb.

I weigh just under 200lbs and I aim to eat just over 200g of protein per day.

So about 1.1g/lb

This has been covered a million times.

0.8 - 0.9 / lb is sufficient.

Protein "requirements" are often drastically overstated so that companies can sell more of their trash supplements to noobs like you who think you need 2-3g /lb of bw to get any gains.
