i recently started having the feeling of needing to take deep breaths like several times a minute. but even when i do take a breath, it feels very unsatisfying, like i didnt really breathe properly

i looked up some stuff online. seems its possibly anxiety? although i dont think so?

what else could it be, or should i try to help?

Ive actually had that feeling before. The need to take a large deep breath in, but when i do it doesn't feel like its done the trick. Just happens randomly to me, but its for sure not a constant thing. Try working on your breathing in a calm manner, like meditation

Could definitely be anxiety. Some people get anxious by paying attention to their own vital signs. Stop thinking about your breathing so much. If you realize you're thinking about them just accept that and focus on something else like reading.

Ahhh fuck that shit. Happens to me when i go through periods of anxiety that last longer than a week. Goes away on its own. Sure does make sleeping at night feel like a chore.

wow didnt think this was so common

it went away after like 20 min.... but yea when i think about the incident where i had trouble breathing it almost makes me feel like it again...

i think if it was caused by anxiety, that when i wasnt sure why it was happening it made me keep worrying about it, which may have made it worse lol...

It's quite incredible how powerfully your cognition influences your physical body rhythms. If you're worried ask your doctor but if that's your only symptom and it goes away when you're relaxed I wouldn't worry too much

ok thanks

i also thought about this....

ive been sometimes taking Aleve, aka Naproxen Sodium... for my shoulder.

and i realized i was getting an acid feeling in my stomach and throat sometimes. i always make sure to have food in my stomach when taking the pills though.

and i read about how trouble breathing can be caused by GERD. maybe this could have contributed to it. since i did take the max recommended dosage of 3 pills of Aleve the day i was having difficulty breathing

although ive taken aleve many times in the past, and never had this issue

yeah it can be, acid can enter the larynx and irritate your trachea.
