Ok so um like really weak right now but have been really trying last couple weeks but don't see an improvement so I don't think I'm going hard enough. I do it til I'm sore and my arms start shaking but next day everyone says there sore and my body feels fine I don't know what's going on.

I can only do like 25 push ups first, then 15, 10, 10, 8 as of last night. I got 35 lb dumbells I can't curl them really with one hand so been doing one with both hands. I tried to do pull ups last night it didn't work.

I got a membership to the Y either friday or monday.

1) since I can't do a lot at once is it ok to do mutiple smaller work outs throughout the day?

2) should I do push ups daily, and then the above question?

3) I understand you should train different muscles everyday, I really want to get stronger and in better shape but not 100% in a workout routine right now I'm kind of bouncing over the place and not progressing like i should be.

Thanks!

That's the reason you aren't progressing. You aren't on a routine but just doing random workouts while doing other body weight exercises. Since you got a gym membership the next step would be to find a beginner workout routine and stick to it. Does the Y offer any free trainer sessions? If they do then do them so you can learn proper form and possibly get some sort of routine to start with.

To your questions just do one workout per day once you get a routine. No you shouldn't do push ups everyday. Also you can start with pull downs instead up pull ups which will build up strength. Don't use two hands to do dumbbell curls, just use lighter weight.
