I'm lactose intolerant and I need something that doesn't make me excessively gassy. However, at the same time I really want to bulk up (I'm 5'9" and 140 lb). What are the disadvantages to whey isolate?

Like I've mentioned before I'm no pro with supplements

I personally use the isolate though.

Whey gold standard

Maybe you should look into vegetarian protein powders. Very expensive but should work around your intolerance for lactose.

Just my two cents, I know there are some who swear by this and that. There's also people here who are just looking for plus ones. You can find further info on Google or your local dietitian.

don't necessarily need protein powder to bulk but it def helps
try massive smoothies with
whole milk (less lactose than skim or 1%) or almond milk
add banana(s) and peanut butter, steel cut oats, yogurt or kefir, olive oil, avocado, spinach or kale

good god avocado and peanut butter in almond milk with some kale thrown in.. BARF. Separate them and boom shits dank tho. I eat avocados raw nigga

am very lactose intolerant

some days I'll take 3 scoops of expired whey isolate

no stomach problems at all

whey isolate is GOAT for lactose intolerant.
