What makes you think a little body fat makes someone incompetent as an athlete. The fact remains that the most effective way to ensure you're gaining as much muscle as possible is to optimize your training and sleep in addition to eating slightly more than you truly need. i think he is referring to the definition of fitness, and while they are strong as hell they are also quite unhealthy.
