About 2.5 years ago I was in the best shape of my life.

I was the biggest I have ever been, strongest I have ever been, and the fittest I have ever been.

Then I got really busy with working full time and going to school full time and getting to the gym was harder and harder until I ended up not going at all.

I still tried to eat fairly well, and I still do, but occasionally I don't.

Now today I have lost a lot of muscle/strength/size since then and have gotten a bit chubbier.

I want to go back to how I was and am going to make time and put in a bunch of effort to try and get back there, but I don't even know where to begin.

I am pretty weak compared to what I was 2.5 years ago, but I also have gotten chubbier.

Do I work on cutting the fat away or trying to get my strength back first?

The ultimate goal is to get back to where I was 2.5 years ago and then continue to get stronger and bigger from there on.

Could anyone give me some advice on where to start, how to get back into it, how to make time when I work full time and am a full time student?

My stats:
Age: 21
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 167lbs
Body Fat %: Not really sure, maybe 25%?

I want to get everything figured out and start back up next week. It takes 28 days of doing something to start a habit, so hopefully I can do it 28 days straight and make it a habit again.

After I figure everything out and get started, I might keep a log on here to keep everyone updated who helped me get back into.

Thanks.

First I would pray for a second growth spurt. No point in cutting fat right away, would just lengthen the strengthening process imo. Get in a routine and tailor it to your lifestyle so you don't start skipping it like you did in the past.

and?

You can do all that as an adult.

I played University level soccer in my teenage years and at 23 I am training 3x per week and playing 2x per week with competitive teams still.

home gyms are easy and awesome. can target every muscle group efficiently. literally the only difficult thing about it is figuring out what to do about a squat rack. do recommend.

wake up early to work out, or start working out an hour before you plan on sleeping, i suggest the former.

^those 2 things are really good at making you excuseless

start out by doing exercises you enjoy doing. once you feel the habit has formed, and you're having a great time, then include miserable as fuck workouts into an official routine like planks and calf raises.

and ofc take care of your heart and nervous system, i heard these are important things
