did yall know that eccentric movement is less neurally demanding than concentric or isometric movement?

Yes I learned this getting my PT certification. I also recall more muscle tear occurs with eccentric movement.

Is that cause its easier?
ie you can get below parallel with weight on your back, but you might have to fight to get back up.
Same with chin ups or pull ups, you can do the negative, but getting back up can be will power as much as strength (do you really want to get up there? Or will your mind tell you to stop before you finish?)

both ways u should control the movement
but eccentric u allow gravity to sorta help?
so u are not fighting gravity
does that even make sense lol?

eccentric contraction is more neurally efficient. I should have initially said you can produce more force eccentrically for the same nervous activity.

eccentric is the 'negative' part, right? Like when I do way more than my max on bench for just the way down, I'm practicing eccentric contractions?
