this is a special recipe i made. it taste amazing depending on how many apples you put in. i make it my personal goal to drink at least 50oz of fruit/vegetable juice a day. proven health and athletic benefits. i like drinking it for breakfast before or sometimes after my workouts. I use a green star elite dual gear juicer. different juicers work in different ways there a certain ways to mix the ingredients to increase the yields. anyways...

Here it is my ROOT JUICE:

* 2-3 apples (use more to make sweeter. ilike using ambrosia apples but granny smith is good because the tart can cut the taste of the vegetables. otherwise just use juiciest apples you can find.
* 1lb of beets
* 1lb of carrots
* thumb of ginger is tolerable for most peoples but i use about double or more than that easily. ginger is one of the best things to consume google its health benefits. Chinese use ginger all the time go learn why.
* fresh turmeric root (somewhat bitter taste) use this the same way that you would use the ginger as suggested (good stuff, can be hard to come by highly recommended)
* 2 hearts of celery or 1 big long heart (this is to water the juice down and add some green.

typically a normal person would split all that with 2-3 other people.

be glad to answer any juicing related question

I've always used turmeric powder spice in a meal every other day because of the health benefit. However, I've never found it in raw root form. I'm going to consider searching.

I'm confused on the celery. I'd rather use a cucumber.
Nice recipe though.

cucumber would work just fine also. i'm cold all the time so i only eat or drink cucumber during hot months because of it cooling effects. celery is warming and i really like how it tastes with the root veggies.

don't buy cheap powder. India is the largest producer of turmeric. i live in queens, NY and they have all types of indian market by me. i used to buy spices there but you must be careful some of these companies put fillers into their product like every other food companies (no labels required). so something to be wary about. i would say buy the organic powder to be safe next time. whole foods or indian/asian market usually sell fresh turmeric. i can find fresh turmeric from $2.99 a lb or 8.99 a lb over here.

i have more recopies but only if H&F gives a fuck.

facts. you ever hear the expression as cool as cucumber?

traditional chinese medicine can give us tremendous amount of insight into learning what foods we should be eating to optimize our health. some people are hot and some people cold. ying and yang.

people who have cold hands cold feet need to keep circulation going. so we must consume foods and liquids that help improve that circulation (yams like sweet potato, mustard greens, ginger, peppers, cabbage, papaya, kale, parsley, etc.

people who get hot all the time and stay warm easily can get away with eating citrus fruits and or other cooling foods in the cold climates. if i eat or drink something cold during the winter i will be cold instantly. but if i have ginger tea and baked sweet potato or hot oatmeal for breakfast i'll stay much warmer through the day.

drinking cold water is also a bad idea. your organs have to work harder thus putting stress on the body. in TCM they believe the organs have a life span and if you make your organs work harder than they need to, you'll shorten your life span. everything should run efficiently and smoothly. water should be room temperature or warm. i started experimenting last year by drinking hot or warm water instead of cold water and it works, it really does.

i'm still learning so i don't know everything about this stuff but this is just what i know. maybe this post will inspire you guys into furthering your interests in optimal health, fitness, and performance. you have trillions of cells in your body. consuming the right things will improve the function of those cells thus improving all aspects of your life.

The mind is one hell of a drug.

Placebo effect. Hypochondriacs experiencing symptoms.

I'm not saying everything you are saying is bullshit, but to blindly follow all of that is absurd. I like you barnaby, but you have always been biased for as long as I have been in the hnf.
