http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXl3cJQQKUAhe reuses the same needle so many times? each time tip penetrates, i thought it dulls a bit and that has to hurt.... i feel like at many points he can easily hit bone? wouldnt bone hurt a fukton to hit with a needle?
ive been thinking about this for my shoulder but holy shit, id ask for some numbness injected into shoulder first, dafuk, i would fidget around and move just cause and spasm like twitch my shoulder due to a fukin needle so often ....
he like bobs the needle up and down as it goes in too ?
hes very generally providing a bunch of intramuscular, subcutaneous and intracapsular injections. shit will get everywhere, but as long as hes being careful with depth you'd be surprised at how deep the humerus actually is in the shoulder, other than that the clavicle is easy to landmark so he just has to worry about the scapular spine really. theres a solid inch of tissue at least in most areas of the GH joint, he can be fairly liberal with that stuff.
needles have to puncture a lot of different densities of tissue, youd be surprised how tough some fascia is. if youre comparing that vid to antecubital venous draws theyre much much different. ive had to insert needles into my own hand and a few triceps and calves now and its tough, you have to actually use some force
e: and its not really weird that hes using the same needle for every puncture, if he cleaned the entire area with alcohol and is only using gloves, the entire procedure is deemed "clean" (not sterile, that has a strict definition) but really you aren't doing anything weird by removing the needle and replacing it in a slightly different location
