im mid 20s

i get around 5 to 6.5 hours of sleep a night

been doing this for past 4 or 5 months i guess

used to get around 8 hours of sleep a night and felt better

alot of people get 6 hours of sleep and are fine? i feel extremely unproductive, tired, and irritable with 5 to 6 hours of sleep. to an extreme amount of tiredness

but when it comes time to sleep i have trouble fallin asleep. takes around 1 hour, even though was super tired before. thats not so much the issue.

the issue is, is it normal to be so tired from 6 hours of sleep? seems like i shouldnt feel so shitty?

not sure if its bad quality of sleep. past few nights ive been waking up multiple times and then falling back asleep, like 3 or 4 times within 2 hours of when i have my alarm set.

sometimes wake up sweating ALOT.

You could be potentially interrupting or awakening during one of your REM cycles, are you getting up by alarm clock or naturally awaken on your own?

I get about 5-6 hours a day and have class, work and lifting but this amount i've come to after adjusting my sleep schedule and not using an alarm clock, 8+ hours used to make me feel terrible, especially with sleep inertia.

I can sleep for 10+ hours and still be tired af.
Can be straight 10+ or wake up by alarm after 8/9 and go back to sleep for more.

My eyes can get red af, in their relaxed position my eyelids don't fully shut. And I have super vivid/chaotic dreams, think these adds to the depletion of some mental energy

You need more sleep. Even adults should be getting 8 hours. There are select few humans who can actually get by healthily on much less but you are not one

Have you been losing weight at all? Lethargic during the day? Have you had a fever lately,

5 or less here. I just can't fall asleep until after midnight. Working in a warehouse for a year from 3:30-11:30 fucked up my sleep schedule real nice.

Now I have an 8-4 office job and I can't fall asleep until 1 and I'm up at 6.
