finally squats moving along and i got my form down and deep (knowledgeable people have told me, 2 being powerlifters) and it feels comfortable...sets today looked like
185x3
205x3
225x2x3
245x3
255x3
265x1 (pr)
275x1 (pr)
285x1 (pr)
feel like i could have gone to 295 but didnt wanna push it since it went up somewhat slow
185x3x6
185x8

yes, i do alot of sets on squats lol this was not including the 5 total sets of bar-95-135 warming up and stretching since mobility is ass

hoping to hit 315 by thanksgiving. been hitting them hard and not skipping them and its paying off. gets better each time

hahaha is that kind of volume a bad thing? i mean when im hitting only 2-4 reps i feel like i need a bunch of sets to feel accomplished haha. which is why i threw in the 185 for 4 sets after..i dont necessarily feel like its a bad thing. i just try to move the weight for more reps than last workout, add an extra set than the last workout, or add more weight than the last workout. nothing special, but its been working

so is my tonnage bad? haha also, is there anyway to overcome the mental part of the weight feeling heavy? like going from 185-225 feels like death but if i throw 205 in there before 225, its not that bad..like i need the small increments i cant make a decent size jump cuz pussy

I'll take myself as exemple. I squat over 40 000 of volume each week. Tell me how do you get if you add up.

Start by increasing your frequency to twice a week. Volume is what drives progress. Putting too much volume to early will make it harder in the long run but 20-25k of volume should do the trick for months. You should be able to get close to 405 overtime.

so basically just keep adding sets to increase the volume? or add weight or adding reps i guess with same weight? so i'd have to do about the same thing i just did today at the end of the week to hit 20k....jeez ...a 405 squat...i can only dream lol

also: do u do any accessory work with your squats? or is the bulk of ur leg day squats since ur volume already is crazy

Add an other squat day first and see how you react. What kind of programming are you using?
