I lift conventional heavier than sumo, though I've never tried 1rm on sumo because I don't do it and I don't want to hurt myself cuz my form is weak.
When I did both in high school I was always more sore from doing conventional so that's what I've stuck to. I get awful lower back pumps tho
Holy fuck I pulled 225x5 conventional for 3 sets with slow eccentrics and my traps low back and flutes are rekt today. If I ever compete prolly gonna pull sumo though just cuz that 120lb difference.
