Struggling with running, been powerlifting for close to 5 years

Sadly im in the military so I am forced to run

on average i run my 1 and 1/2 mile in 10 mins - 10 mins 30 seconds

the reason im so slow is because i get a huge pump in my calves / legs

I don't have trouble breathing or anything cardio wise its literally just the pump in my legs and hip flexors getting tight that slows me down

anyway to fix this?

Yeah pretty much every day.

You just do it and suck it up. If you actually push yourself it gets easier every day.

I run eh almost every day i have no motivation to dedicate towards it im not trying to get like sub 8 run times for a mile and a half

I am looking for a solution to the problem im having, not just run everyday until you get used to the problem

buy a cheap single speed bike and ride to work or school every day that you can. nn to run, double whammy and if you pick a route with good hills you get a sick power/HIIT workout cause you cant shift up to a better gear ratio

e: nvm didnt read past line 1

the problem you have is that you're too big to be running fast mile times.
If you want to shave off 30 seconds or so, or not feel that "pump" in your lower body.
Run more, relax on the power lifting.
