Looking for a change up to my cardio portion of my workout. I have no boxing experience so I'm looking for something for beginners. Also do shift work so i usually work out alone because having a partner who can fit my schedule just isn't gonna happen...

I'm in good shape and have quick feet. Can jump rope very well. Just wondering if any of yall have any recommendations. Will google also

are you trying to get into boxing, or only looking for new cardio workouts?

running, jumping rope, and heavy bag are basically it for solo boxing cardio. can also shadow box with really light dbs (like 2-3lbs), but that's usually done to make your hands feel lighter when you're gloved up...

what are the odds of you finding a buddy to spar with? that's the most intense cardio workout anyone can get

I would love to get into boxing but there are no local gyms for it. I am gonna move in a few months and would like to get into it wherever I move (there will be boxing gyms I imagine as it will be near/in the city

I have a couple of buddies who would be interested but like I said.. im new and they are too so idk if that would even be a good job

cardio for now but would love to get into it

Do anaerobic work.

Skipping hard for 2 minutes rest for 1. Repeat as many times as you feel

Running as hard as you can for 2 minutes and rest for 1 minute. Repeat 3 times.

This will train your body to work without oxygen also will train your body to learn how to recover in 1 minute which is the usual time between rounds.

Work on your explosiveness with cardio and interval sprints.

Shadow boxing can help as well as finding some decent videos on YouTube to show you correct form and get you prepared for the boxing gym. I do this with my sword training and being a visual learner and more advanced kickboxing techniques when I used to train in MMA.

Even a sparring partner can help, perhaps a friend who is happy to spar with you.

Once you're moved closer to the city and ready to join a boxing gym, you'll have some decent core fundamentals.

IMO... for right now just work on your cardio until you move and can go to a real gym.

the last thing you wanna do is hit a heavy bag for 4-6 months and develop a bunch of bad habits before you move.
