Hi all,
I know theres a chance I'm probably going to get flamed for this, and you probably see this post 20 x a day but I was hoping someone could help me out with some advice. I am admittedly extremely ignorant and all I really know is I need to lower calorie intake.

Background
I used to be 265-270 pound ish and I went on a diet and over the course of a few years I dropped down to 160. I then got told I looked sickly / unhealthy by a doctor and they told me to eat more (which I did) and now I feel I am at a somewhat healthy 180. I still have cheat days every now and again but I try to stay on a steady diet.

Heres a pic: (IN B4 Flame :P, I know I'm not there yet, but I'm closer! :D)

I used to bench alot but I stopped after getting into rock climbing and CKO kickboxing (high intensity cardio). For those unfamiliar with CKO, It's pretty much like insanity / P90X body weight excercises mixed with basic kickboxing combos on a heavy bag.

I try to kickbox at least 4 out of 7 days per week, and climb at least 4 out of 7 days of the week.

After talking to a friend a few months ago that dabbles with nutrition, she recommended my diet be something like this:

4 Eggs and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast
Some mix of a protein / carb/ veggie for lunch
Some mix of a protein / carb/ veggie for dinner
and a quest bar or yogurt at some point during day if I get hungry

I usually meal prep something along the lines of: brown rice / chicken / a bit of broccoli.

After taking on this diet, I do feel I have alot more energy every day and I am building a lot of muscle, but I would like to tone down.

Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated. As I said, I am ignorant on the subject, and I have tried researching, but I failed. If theres anything else I can provide that would help, please let me know.

Thanks!

Great job thus far

Your progression looks great and you look more healthy now than you did in the past.

I'm unsure of your goals

Continue eating healthy and remain an active lifestyle. To increase mass, you need to lift; puah your body to the limit with weights and nourish yourself properly.

To tone down, you need to focus more on dieting, making sure you are having a caloric deficit. Also remaining that active lifestyle

I lift in the mornings so my breakfast nowadays consist of a bowl of pumpkin flax seed grains + fat free milk + scoop of muscle milk whey + handful of frozen blueberries

Then I hit the gym, come back home. Make myself a mean Cajun Turkey (like15 slices), slice of American cheese (maybe leave out the cheese but I can't eat without it) on an open face whole wheat bread

Things I snack on are

Beef jerky from Costco
Cho bani yogurts with organic frozen blueberries + scoop of muscle milk whey from Costco
Almonds
Can of tuna with a bit of fat free mayo and Sriracha
Boiled eggs

My best advice.. if you burn more calories than you consume, you will tone down and gain muscle. (You can lift heavily, live a very active lifestyle whether it be playing sports, kickboxing, a job that requires a lot of energy, and nourish yourself properly. You will see yourself gaining mass and toning down at the same time.)

You are transitioning your body fat into muscle if you lift, live an active lifestyle, and eat healthy / properly
