is it bro science that creatine makes you retain water? This would be a huge factor as to why I'm stuck at the same weight for a while now; creatine every day! Also, could clean up diet a lot more, even after the changes already in place...

it does cause you to "retain water" because it increases cell hydration which increases the volumization of the cells. creatine is a safe and proven supplement, if you're going to buy it read the label and buy basic Creatine Monohydrate, it should be like $11

creatine does cause fluid retention..but, even if you take more and more, you won't continue to gain more and more water weight..you will retain the fluid with the supplementation, but only up to a given point..if you are stuck at a weight, it is most likely because of your diet

carbs also cause water retention...for every gram of stored glycogen, your body retains ~3g of water that you ingest (maybe a little less) to balance a sodium response to the carbs

so you could be holding fluid for multiple reasons

also, this is a decent study looking at creatine and water retention if you care enough to read it:

you might stay at the same weight for 1-2 weeks if you just start to take creatine because of the water... but after that if you stay at the same weight it is your diet/cardio

-taking creatine on my cut and still losing weight
