I really do not have a strong appetite; I typically eat two large meals a day with occasional snacks in between. In the two meals combined as well as drinking 1~2 protein shakes a day I MAYBE get 150~180 G of protein and that is actually trying to take in as much as possible.

I am 6'7", 255~260 lbs and I am really not that built, I am somewhat muscular but I have maybe 20~% BF and I feel like when I try to take in more protein I get a lot of junk in with it two which is very undesirable to me.

I feel like I am not getting enough protein and I was hoping you guys could suggest some protein packed snacks or even supplements that I could start consuming to try and up my protein intake but limit unhealthy or fattening/junk foods.

Looking for protein foods that are:

Cheap(on a budget)

Clean/not too fattening/preferably beneficial to my health in other ways

Not to heavy on my stomach because I really do not have a strong appetite throughout most of the day

Does not make me thirsty

I have a problem with protein shakes; for some reason protein shakes make me ridiculously thirsty so it is kind of hard for me to drink more than 1~2 a day. I literally get thirsty to the point that I can barely swallow until I drink enough water to somewhat quench my thirst.

eat mixed kale/baby spinach every day (popeye style), or cook up some black beans with garlic and onions

also, this outrageous thirst you talk about and lack of an appetite, please see a doctor and have him test your blood sugar. serious, do it ASAP.

Aren't greens like kale or spinach an incomplete protein?

Also, I have not been to a doctor since I was like 12, I can't afford it >_< I have a broken tooth I need like $1000 worth of work done on.

As for the thirst, if I don't drink protein shakes I really don't have a problem with it. Sometimes aspartame, dextrose or sucrose in drinks can make me thirsty though, I noticed almost every protein powder/drink I buy has them in it; I really think it is just the artificial sweeteners that do it.

I really don't have the problem typically and it's not that I don't have an appetite at all, I just don't have the appetite for more than two large meals and a few snacks. I have been like that for my entire life, I didn't start eating breakfast until recent just because I know it is good to fuel yourself before you start your day instead of during.

No one in my family has diabetes but I will keep it in mind/monitor the signs and see a doctor if I feel the need.

I also do not drink a lot of water either, chronic dehydration is kind of a life long thing for me :-/

green proteins are both bio-available and complete proteins when you combine them with most complex carbs. greens are cheap, and 100% beneficial for health while, for comparison's sake, meats that are super high in saturated fats like beef and pork are not.

just check your blood sugar, one way or another, don't make up a dumbshit excuse like you're the only person on Earth who gets ravenous thirst from arficial sweeteners, i'm tryin to look out for you here lol.

/edit just looked online, walmart sells bg testers for $20, use it once and return it lol

r u kidding me?

spinach is NOT a complete protein

plant and vegetable proteins are often incomplete protein sources

thats not the case here

its a fact that spinach is an incomplete protein source

and that most plants and vegetables are incomplete....

not a matter of debate here

do u even know what a complete vs incomplete protein source is?
