How far into your dl career did you implement this grip? (Months of training/dl #s) how long did it take you to get used to it

How.should I learn it?? Just start using it 24/7 I'm starting to need straps for my double overhand cuz the bar is rolling so much

Hookgrip masterrace.

Do all warmups with it.
To get used to heavy weights do isometric holds.

For the record the purpose of the hook grip isnt used for the traditional 45lbs bar. Its only used for olympic lifts like aube said. The olympic lifting bar is a little skinnier, making the hook grip easier to do.

Hook grip sumo master race as well.

Took about two weeks to get used to.

I figured you would ask after saying your double overhand would suffice.

Didn't start using it until I broke into the 500's for conventional mixed grip.

I would suggest learning it as soon as possible.

Works well for any bar.

There are plenty of powerlifters who use hookgrip aswell.

This, at first I always sought out the skinny bar.

But now that my grip can handle it, I use the thick, meaty bar every time.

just work on your grip strength man, it comes with time. hook is awesome once you start failing, and mixed is good too. just too much thinking not enough lifting

I have some pathetic tiny biceps, and it also just feels super wonky when I'm pulling sumo the bar kinda wobbles in the air, I hate it.

I was last week, but I'm now dling 15 more lbs and the bar is slipping so fast :(

did you pull your top sets with hook when you were starting, or just warm up with them and used straps/over under until you felt comfortable with it?

it's more the bar rolling, one time it'll roll right out of my fingers, nd fk that.
