I spent all day yesterday hanging out with my parents around their house (for Mother's Day) just doing chores and relaxing... I feel like I learned so much just SPENDING TIME WITH THEM.

From the age of 14 until I moved out, I was glued to my computer so I missed out on many opportunities to spend with them and learn from them. I feel like a new man after just one afternoon of hanging out with them.

Your parents have so much to teach you... most of us, anyway. LOL some parents, I realize, really suck.
So just have an open mind and be willing to learn and go spend some time with your folks. You will be glad you did.

I'm fine around my mom but I don't talk to my father. He has only degraded me since a young child and flash his money and demand his kids be his slaves. I'm lucky I have not committed murder by now, I have developed great self control by not harming him. We never have gotten a long because he's just a fat lazy man that uses his status and fear to demand respect. I would never do such to my children one day and I have learned how I never want to treat my children from him. That is the only positive from it.

For example, he is so lazy he lives in dirty as hell place because he refuses to clean up after himself. But yet his kids are expected to clean up after him even though he makes the place disgusting on purpose. I mean you have to choose to be that unclean and lazy. He should hire a maid but too stingy with his money. Also we have a family 6 unit building that has gone to shit because he doesn't pay for a groundskeeper or repairman. He is one of those owners that you would hate to be your landlord and doesn't fix anything unless it's required by law and needs to be fixed asap, like a broken water pipe or something. If it's anything that can wait he will never do it for these tenants and I feel bad for them all.

Edit:
I would say my uncle is my role model, he works hard and treats my aunt the way I would treat a woman. He teaches me fatherly things and life skills and we all laugh a lot when we're together and I think the most important trait in parenting is to make your kids social and laugh with them.

The way I was neglected made me very antisocial, no life guidance and no dreams of which up until now, because I want my aunt and uncle to be proud of me...I don't really care about my biological parents because they were never there in my life and let me be potato. My aunt and uncle taught me more in 3 months then they did my whole life. I appreciate them so much for thier love and kindness towards me, I was finally able to know what real parents should be. They keep thier home clean and are both business owners.

You learn to appreciate them and love them even more once you've moved out aswell, a new sense of gratitude comes into play when you no longer see them day-in and day-out.
