So in about 1-2 month I'm going to be having a surgery to remove my gallbladder due to lots of pain.
Has anyone here had it?
How long does it take to recover? (heard its a small simple surgery)

gall bladder is small and relatively easy to access so performing it laproscopically is likely

it will be easier the longer you wait (because urgent surgeries are the ones which are messy, infected, urgent, ruptured etc. etc. and will take precedence over it)

i hear the worse part is your change of diet after the surgery. for at least a few weeks, no fiber / fat. so no more beans, bacon, cheese, cream, oil, etc. then you slowly add it back in small amounts.

i had my removed a few years ago. im in my mid 20s lol

had it laproscopic

went home same day or next day, dont remember

pain pills help for a few days, then u really dont need them anymore

just listen to doctor, was not too bad

just like carte said, dont eat high fat foods or a week or two, i ate mostly bread and bland stuff

now i can eat a whole pizza and not shit myself lol, i wonder if this might change later in life

how old r u by the way? didnt think this was common for young people

i was up all night barfing bile or whatever, literally throwing up for 16 hours straight and went to doctor in morning, so much pain, but didnt want to call ambulance, was more of a man, and stuck through it, prob shouldn't have, the surgeon told me my gallbladder was definitely inflamed after it was taken out.

DO NOT try to force any farts out within a few weeks after surgery, unless u wanna shit ur pants

from personal experience, don't ever "man it through" if you think it's not normal, especially soon after surgery. a few days after my dad had his gallbladder removed, he had severe pain. he tried to wait it out, but after 6 hours of barely-able-to-move pain, he called 911. test results showed signs of an infection, but we didnt learn that until after he died a few days later.

i was throwing up all night before i went to doctor and then i went to surgeon. i was fine after the surgery, other than i had to eat differently for a bit and be careful of liquid shits.

damn, sorry to hear that bro.

i realized after that i should have called 911 when i couldnt sleep and was constantly throwing up, and in severe pain all night. i thought it was just food poisoning or a really bad stomach virus, didnt think my gallbladder was inflamed and about to rupture any second

my mom had it done 2 days before thanksgiving. eating everything she used to and was fine. the only complaint she had was after the surgery she had terrible gas pains because they blow up your stomach with air or some shit. but it took like an hourish i think. its an easy procedure
