25 years old. everyday intense jiu jitsu/grappling. right knee has been achy lately. It's not from an acute action (its not a contusion or a sprain)

it hurts a little bit at full extension and at full contraction like when I sit on my feet.

I don't lift.

Would lifting or stretching help potentially strengthen the surrounding muscles and alleviate the pain?

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks buzzins.

Gonna take a couple days off before my competition saturday. wish me luck

lfiting wont alleviate the pain, best option imo would be getting an MRI and finding out if its actually an arthritis condition or significant fluid in the joint, which can be removed by a needle by a professional.
if it matters at all, im a licensed pharmacist practicing in NY :)
hope it helps, feel better.

or u could try asking ur general practitioner for a cox inhibitor like Meloxicam 15mg and see if that helps temporarily

When my knee was hurting from jiu jitsu I went for X-rays and stuff and they said it was sprained just needed rest and that knee pads would help prevent it from happening again and also not getting into any twisting ankle locks/ knee bars lol and if you do shove your free foot up their ass until they let go

I was told it was tight hamstrings. after stretching they felt better and didn't hurt. It also makes sense because I haven't been stretching my hamstrings since I started training again this year
