Hey guys.
When i was 20 my friend died infront of me in Afghanistan and it caused me to go into a deep depression. I gained 70+ pounds and did nothing but play videogames and eat pizza.
I got up to 305 pounds, 43% body fat, 6' 1" at 21 years old.
At age 22 I got down to 195 pounds, 12% body fat
age 23 i started to take steroids for about 9 months then stopped, got to 210 pounds and 8% body fat
age 25 I got married(220lbs), age 27 had a kid(230lbs) - we moved to the middle of no where minnesota so my wife could finish her Medical Residency training.
Snow 9 months of the year, we had 1 vehicle, and I was stuck at home with a baby all day and most of the night....
I'd get stressed out and eat sweets to feel better. or pizza. or anything bad pretty much.
now I am age 28 and 260 fucking pounds. 35% body fat.

For the last 3 weeks i've changed my lifestyle-stopped eating bagels and creamcheese and switched to oatmeal and eggs.
I eat chicken instead of beef, use mustard instead of bbq sauce and i do not eat late at night anymore. My diet does consist of 5 bananas that I eat around lunchtime with my protein shake, they fill me up and I do not get hungry again for another 4 hours, then I eat chicken breast for dinner, sometimes a bowl of pasta w/ some tomato sauce (low sodium).
I've been drinking tons of water too.
I got a gym membership and go 6 days a week, they include 2 hour daycare for free also!
I'm down 10 pounds and 2 inches around my waistlines. I feel like I'm not losing weight quickly enough.
I lift VERY hard using pyramid technique so i can gain my strength back. I alternate sets with lower body to upper body and all that jazz.
I know how to workout and know what to do in the gym. I am not going to take steroids ever again- even though TONS of the dudes at the gym are on them, and I've already been offered them by one guy. I simply refuse to cheat my way into good-looking health.

The advice i was hoping someone could give me is what kind of supplements could help me in this process of losing weight? I don't believe in diet pills, they are fucking bulllshit and just a ton of caffiene.
Right now I am taking the following:
Fish oil
Glutamine(to recover)
100% whey protein (1 scoop after workout)
L-Arganine
glucosamine

I do not take a pre-workout supplement but I would like too. My main concern is that some of them(Like Jack3d) contain Creatine, should this concern me? It doesn't seem like a TON of creatine.. And i remember taking that stuff a while ago in my early 20's and it was awesome.
What else can I add to me supplements?
I was thinking of adding L-Carnatine.

Is this what it is like for almost-30-year olds to lose weight? this fucking sucks. I wish it were as easy as it was when I was 22. Everything just moves so much slower, my joints hurt like crazy, my back is in pain, my neck hurts, these pains fucking suck. Im fighting through, knowing that the end will be life-long healthy living and I want to be a good example for my son, just looking for some extra tips/motivation. I'm very happy with my current diet. I'm eating tons of protein, 2 cups of veggies a day with a bowl of oatmeal in the morning with eggs(no cheese and shit). It's not my diet that has issues.

Thanks

The weight is mainly love handles and my ass haha.
Some of it is on my back.

I'm lucky i didn't get titties from it all, though it doesn't matter i still need to lose weight.

edit: When I ask my friends how much they think I weigh, they say 225. Even friends that I've made at the gym are shocked when I tell them I am 250. I really don't care how I "look" though. I just want to be healthy again. sure i want to be shredded.. But that just isn't realistic right now, maybe in a few years after I've been working out in a healthy manner.

260lbs + 1900 caloric daily limit = bad

Definitely gonna be more cals then that bro.

Losing weight quickly is not always a good thing.

Slow and controlled cut = more muscle mass maintained.

edit - sorry just skimmed thru ur post, but yea, military gyms are fucking roided out it's crazy... at least the ones I've been too.

I was taking in 2300 calories a day but wasn't losing weight fast enough for my liking at least. So i lowered it to 1900... :(

Is there a calculator or something that can help me with this?

edit:
My wife says that my body is feeling a lot more hard, and she can tell im getting more fit. Said that last night while we were doing it haha. So i must be doing something right ;)

Can anyone help with the supplements? My diet is an easy fix, increase calories if i need too. But would like to get my supplement regime fixed.

edit2: thanks lance, I'll check out that book. I'm not familar with the lingos of diet such as TDEE and Macros.

Step 1) Find out your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure, google "TDEE Calculator")
Step 2) Diet plan (macros/calories)
Step 3) Gym plan
Step 4) Consistency

I'd recommend you read Lean Muscle Diet by Alan Aragon, good info in there.

Supplements are exactly that, supplementation to your normal diet... they are not required.

Most people use:
Fish Oil
Multivitamin
Whey Protein
Vitamin D

Thanks. I will check it out. I'm not familar with diet lingo such as TDEE and Macros.

What about the L-carnatine and L-arganine? Should I keep taking them?
What about pre-workout such as Jack3d? Too soon? I feel un-motivated when I lift.... It sucks haha.

Ehh up to you, won't affect much.

As far as PWO goes I just use coffee, it's cheap and easy. If you insist on using PWO you can make your own for as little as 0.60 per serving http://www.bulksupplements.com/ (use caution with caffeine powder unless you have a milligram sensitive scale, make sure to research the ratios and dosages before putting random shit together).

c4 > Jack3d > 1MR (those are the ones I've tried).
