i've been taking this fish oil but i only take two softgels which adds up to 500 mg of epa + dha. from what i remember, the recommended dosage to get any kind of benefits is about 3g? i would have to take 12 of these softgels to get 3 g. is it time to upgrade from my poverty fish oil?

different sources vary - but by taking 2 softgels (typically the daily "serving size" of it... there is little toxicity and they still make money off of you. Some people recommend between 500-1500mg EPA+DHA in a balanced ratio if possible. AHA recommends 500mg. It really isn't going to make a huge impact, but you might want to increase the amount of pills you take... 2 in the morning with dinner and 2 in the morning with breakfast if you want more.

Eating cold-water fish which aren't farmed or caught in areas full of pollution is probably your best bet for overall health...

fish oil, this is one thing that there are so many different views expressed about the pros/cons/effects online, in books, even medical books. i've heard about the 3g thing too and wish i had an answer for you.

the link yolo posted does bring up a good point though - i think it all comes down to the quality of fish it's harvested from. they really do get expensive though, i pay $30 per small bottle of krill oil, and im sure there are much more expensive out there.

pretty sure its not the quality of the fish.... ur really not bright

its more so the process of extracting oil from fish and the end result of a pill form

the quality of the process

also, if the labels are accurate for how much EPA and DHA the fish oil contains

it is both. quality constitutes the type of fish, the region the fish is caught, etc etc. to spell this out for you, in an example, regular fish oil from 'company A' differs from krill oil also from 'company A'. different quality fish. same process. this is what i mean. this is what you sorely misunderstand.

there are many debatable things when it comes to this. you chose one that isn't. sorry, your attempt to belittle me has backfired YET AGAIN. try again, you slob.

I'd recommend 3-5g every day just for the benefits to brain function and joint health
people with injuries have had successes with theraputic doses (15-30g) in recovering issues with joints and such

This is what I use now.

Little cheaper and Kirkland is very high quality. Little less epa/dha though.
