Hello, I am new to this forum and I play football, basketball and hockey and my asthma can be a real pain sometimes
I was wondering if there are any good exercises for the lungs
If it matters I am 15, 5' 11", 140lbs

if you live near a mountain area, take a trip to higher grounds every week or so, and spend a few good hours.
not an exercise per se, but will help your condition chronically.

depends on what stage your asthma is and the length after which you have had a recent exacerbation etc.

if it is exercise induced induced, use 2 puffs of big blue about 15minutes before activity

Do you take anti inflammatory medication such as Advair or Flovent?

I have asthma too, and around your age it was a real bitch. Still is sometimes if I get sick but w/e. Usually sucks in the spring and fall too.

doc thinks i have "cough variant asthma" and i'm starting some meds now to see if it works. curiously, do you think going to higher grounds will help me? i dont have wheezing/shortness of breath. just a cough.

If it's related to your nodules' contraction insufficiency, it has to help. Smaller oxygen concentrations per cubic micrometer will force your nodules to contract fully.

Do more cardio. It will train the lungs for more endurance.
