What's a good snatch / C&J for someone who's in the 1000+ lb club (closer to 1100lb) in the powerlifting big three. I know its technically two different sports, but still :)

No real correlation.
So much technique and mobility.

Got friends who totals 1500lbs in powerlifting but only like 360 in OL.

Also depends on how big your squat is (dl a bit) in that total.

But since you asked for a good one, half of your PL total.

Yeah the technique/mobility required for olympic lifts is pretty sick. Haven't even tried to Snatch yet.

When I moved to Oslo in January I signed up at a new gym (Sats/Elixia hehe) and got 2 free PT lessons. Used them to learn how to Clean & Jerk.

My technique is fucking shitty but at least I can sort of do them. the PT I was given happened to live in China for 5 years were he told me they took in chinese kids at a young age and made them spend x amount of hours per day, every day doing C&J with a stick for years before they let them even touch a bar.

No wonder them chinese people so good at olympic lifts (Tian Tao, Lu Xianjin etc)

i have said that for anyone..if you actually want to do the olympic lifts to a good extent, you should work the technical aspects for months before even considering the weight as a factor

but, as PlaaD said, there really isn't much of a correlation between powerlifting and olympic lifting..you can't complete an olympic lift without bar speed, you can grind the power lifts out though

I want to get into real OL but I'll be damned if it doesn't hurt my wrists quite a bit once the clean is complete and on my shoulders.

Apparently I suck at making a shelf with my Anterior delts too. I used to be able to fine, but I'm not as good as it as I used to be.

I need a lot of work before I ever try for weight on a clean and jerk... months of work on form to get it right sounds realistic

I don't have much interest in doing the snatch tbh.

A good start would be 100/125 kg imo.
