Hi I do not post much but I just hurt myself in the gym and was hoping you guys could help.

I was squatting 205 (is my normal working set weight, did warm ups, etc, been squatting for a long time, have decent form) and I went down on my first rep of my second set and idk what happened when I came up but something went wrong and my back went into a ton of pain. My lower back hurts really bad, my abs are really tense trying to walk around, I can't even do half of a situp right now.

I've never even come close to injuring myself in the gym before, or even aggravating anything. But this is definitely worse than a simple ache. It's my lower back. I think it may have to do with the positioning of the bar on my back, I think I might have had it like sitting down on one of my vertebrae or something, I'm not really sure. My back didn't roll in or anything like that on the rep.

What do I do/what could it be?

Thank you guys

I honestly think I have good form. I never let my back curl over and I go lighter weight and slower and deeper to ensure I'm doing it right and safe, I have never even been remotely bothered by anything. This was like 1 rep something weird happened and went wrong. I really think it might have had to do with the bar positioning.

I've been icing it on/off for about an hour now and it has started to swell. At what point do I decide doctor over just letting it rest?
