I am very weak on barbell movements, as opposed to dumbbell movements; for instance:

DB OHP - 95lbs DBs x 10
BB OHP - 135 x 3-5 (lol..)

DB Bench - 100's x 8
BB Bench - 225 x 1 (and very.. very hard at that..)

is this normal for alot of people?? Am I alone? I am 6'1 and very very long limbs, I feel tension with barbells on my rotator cuffs, should I work on my strength with this or should I just accept it and keep on keepin on with my dumbbells?

I am doing fine in training with the DB's if I never had to touch a BB again but I am just curious if this is a typical thing other lifters feel.

Several things can cause this....


What you train more often you will be better at

DBs move independently whereas barbell is rigid

you might not be going as low as you do with barbell



Cliffs:
Ur not strong at DBs, you are just bad at benching

well I actually keep the weight pretty low to maintain good form for all my lifts, I'm sure if I was trying to throw show off weight it could be much more, so form isnt an issue, the fact I can't do it really isnt much of an issue either, im more just curious if anybody else suffers from the same issues and if this is a typical issue for some other lifters.

You can cheat way more with dbs and most people do. Not saying it's some terrible thing.

ROM is probably whack on DB's. Have someone record you doing 10 reps and watch your depth.

Or it could just be your body. My gym partner's shoulders don't like barbell at all. He can throw up DB's with great form and depth but struggles on barbell day.

I doubt u can do 95's for 10 on shoulder press... Highly.

If so then no doubt u are strong as fuck on db's for some reason lol

Not trying to be a dick but that just sounds off. It may be ur form as mentioned above.

I only say so cuz I have a friend who benchs 335x5 clean form. Bb ohp 185x3-5 clean, strict(not push press) and he doesn't do that much more than the 95's for 10 lol. And he's not weak on db, does incline db with the 125's.

don't apologize for calling it what it is.
seen it plenty. they manage to lift it up with 2 extra buddies and only move a quarter inch.
