i usually dont workout for strength

for strength i believe u should rest for 90 to 120 seconds between sets

but for hypertrophy ive heard 60 seconds is good

what about 30 sec for hypertrophy? much difference? sometimes im in a rush and do 30 sec rest times between sets, easiest to do for bicep tricep exercises , although ive done for all body parts except legs. i like to use full rest between leg sets

The CSCS book I have says 30-90 seconds of rest. Some will recommend 30-60 while others will recommend 30-90. The point is to have a short to moderate interset rest period

the CSCS book also suggests 2-5 minute rests for strength or power and less than 30 seconds for endurance training.

I lifted with my 18 year old brother today for the first time in forever. This kid does superretardgnarlysets. Literally jumps from one set to the other. He was done with his whole workout before I even finished half mine, there any setbacks to not resting but maybe 15-30 seconds?

Wth guys those are some short ass breaks.

I take 2-3 mins between almost every set :L

lol this is me too, my strength goes from like benching 165 all the way to benching 115 if i try to do 1 minute rests, how the fk u guys manage that? I usually do like 2 min rests O_O

better to lower weight and rest time, or keep rest time 90-120 secs and go with a heavier weight?

e/ this is probably one of those things that makes little difference, right?

if u cant 1rm 315 bench , u have no business doing low rest intervals
