Last year, my senior year of college, i underwent serious surgery on my left arm due to an accident in which i completely shattered my elbow and broke my arm at the bicep. I currently have plates and screws holding together what was left of my arm. I was previously, before the injury, a collegiate swimmer and was in tip top shape but now i'm having an issue. I'm still capable of keeping most of my body in shape, abs legs lats ect. But i'm having a huge issue when it comes to arms and chest because i can handle only minimal weight in my left arm, it's permanently damaged by range and strength. to give an example of my loss i could easily do 200 push ups on cadence before the injury now my top is maybe 50 and 90% of my weight is on my right arm, my left arm, after the push ups, is in excruciating pain at the elbow because of the hardware. i need suggestions on how to keep my arms of equal size and some chest exercises that have little to do with the elbow joint.

your arms will likely never be equal again and you should probably just be thankful that you still have 2. that said just do what you can with your left and dont try to load it the same as you do the right, human tissues are quite amazing and if youre still young you can probably recover a lot of function (likely not all)

Flys put too much stress on the bow.

I'm 25 so I have youth. I'm already dealing with a fairly substantial loss in range. I prefer to do high rep low weight naturally but using weights in general can cause complications

God I know this feel so well.

Have two plates and 13 screws in my left forearm and bicep curls, or basically any arm exercise fucking kill. 15 pound bicep curls almost have me in tears from the pain.

Stay strong my brotha.

Yeah I have three. One holding my bicep bone together and two in the elbow alone 22 pins in all. It blows. And flys from the elbow sounds reasonable
