Just get into a routine. And it becomes a habit.
Also, never skip a workout day, (unless doing it to prevent injury), once you skip like 3 days, it gets easy to say fuck it.

Cant help you with the motivation though, depends how bad you really want it!

Really i think the gym is the easy part, the eating habits are what I find difficult.

same. though in my case, i eat very little meat, so i had to eat a lot of protein shakes. i tried to go to the gym in the morning. as soon as something disrupts it (meeting, sick day, holiday, etc) i find that i stop going to the gym for months :/

this is unfortunately way too true -.-

and lack of motivation or laziness isn't one of those things that can be helped by another person, it's gotta come from the individual.

everyone has a motivation. whether they got the piss beat out of them every day in high school and walk into the gym daily saying "NEVER AGAIN" or whether they watched their obese father slowly deteriorate in a bed for the last 10 years of his life and decided they ain't about that life... turn something you're emotionally invested in positively or negatively into your motivation to stay fit and constantly remind yourself

I cant imagine not going to the gym now at all.

A. Guilt kicks in, all my hard work is going to wither away.
B. Its social , i have a lot of friends there (regulars you say hi to each day, I find it pretty welcoming)
C. I find it to be the funnest activity I do now. I play the odd mach of Dota but that's it. Video games became extremely boring and non engaging.
D. You don't have to follow something on the internet. Yes lots of programs are great and are proven to work, but if you don't care about being 100% "optimal" you can attempt to create your own program. This keeps you engaged and for me it makes it extremely enjoyable.
E. Its a constant learning experience.

My points are what keeps me going. The health benefits are a major bonus as well as physiological health.

Gotta find a gym buddy to hold you accountable then. It'll make all the difference.
