I need to know how many miles I run. Is there an app for Android phones that records this?

While the nike running app for the ipod nano is great because it's preloaded and light-weight... it's horribly inaccurate since it doesn't have a GPS and just uses the built in accelerometer.

The nike running app for phones is much better, I used it for a few years before investing in a great GPS watch. Nothing can compare to a great GPS watch.

i use vima run

shows the following and its free to use. unless you want more storage space which costs extra. once you reach 10 saved runs you have to pay for more storage, or just delete them so you dont reach 10 logs and keep using for free like me.

pace
max speed
average speed
total time
distance
altitude

can also be used driving its really handy app,

also draws your path on a gps map with mile markers.
