one of my professors told me he wanted to talk about an MSc position he has in his lab for september. if everything goes well next year I will be starting my masters in neuromuscular physiology

Congratulations, you can then do your PHD and constantly fight for funding while almost making zero income yourself while struggling to maintain enough research to keep your project going to realize that 5-7 years just passed and you make less than the undergraduate next to you!

Jokes aside, congratulations, have to start somewhere.

its not, in general the field is looking at electrical activity of muscle tissue lol. mostly EMG/force output studies, sometimes use ultrasound, mri, tms etc to characterize muscle architecture. its the study of motor neurons and how muscle tissue responds to their influence

yeah a lot of associate professors at my school start at 112k a year plus im sure they get benefits in free tuition for children and extended health benefits etc. not to mention pay scales and research funding

That\s just how it is here for friends I have in Canada who are actively engaged in their research.

Also in regards to that 112k number, I guess I just don't find that to be very much given the time frame it took to acquire it.

Regardless I wish anyone luck/good fortune in any field.
